The Lead Concierge plays a key role as the first impression for all visitors. The Concierge must be professional, energetic and compassionate, with high-level customer service skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must be flexible to cover for other staff when necessary. Must have skills in MS Outlook and MS Word, as well as the ability to learn new applications. Bilingual (English-Spanish) strongly preferred as well as experience in using Paragon clinical systems. High school diploma or GED required.

Prevention and Education Coordinator (Cambridge, MA)

Middlesex Partnerships for Youth, Inc. is a non-profit agency dedicated to prevention and intervention in matters of health and safety for youth. Established more than 20 years ago, Middlesex Partnerships for Youth, Inc. (MPY) is closely affiliated with the Middlesex District Attorney's Office. Both entities serve the diverse 54 cities and towns in Middlesex County, the largest county in Massachusetts. The PEC Coordinator will work out of 47 Thorndike St., Cambridge.

Job Summary
The Prevention and Education Coordinator (PEC) reports directly to the Executive Director (ED).The PEC will assist the ED with the organization's future growth and strategic response to an ever-increasing and varied demand for its services. The PEC will have both internal and external facing responsibilities, ranging from internal coordination of in-service trainings to external presentations. This is a full time position, requiring some evening speaking engagements.

The successful candidate for this position must possess excellent public speaking and be comfortable speaking to school personnel, parents, students, law enforcement personnel and other stakeholders. Additionally, the successful candidate must have excellent writing skills which are necessary to draft prevention brochures, a bi-annual newsletter and power point presentations. Sophisticated computer/technology skills are essential. Candidates need to possess a background in prevention and intervention regarding matters of health and safety for youth, as well as a genuine passion for this important work. The following is a job description for this position:

Responsibilities
Structure and lead all facets of the in-service training program for professional staff and parents, including developing content, creating PowerPoint presentations, scheduling trainings with school districts and internal presenters, and maintaining records and statistics for the ED.
Draft content of newsletters and brochures, to be finalized by the ED.
Assist the ED regarding conference planning and preparation, including selection of conference materials for participant's packets.
Represent MPY at various speaking engagements, in-service trainings, conferences, professional associations, and other public venues.
Identify best practices and research based prevention strategies with an eye toward future needs and budget realities.
Prepare for and attend MPY Board Meetings, produce reports and make presentations, as directed by ED.
Spearhead various projects, including collaborations with the Middlesex District Attorney's Office such as the PSA Project and the annual Superintendents' and Chiefs' Breakfast.


Qualifications
Masters degree in a relevant field preferred; candidates with a JD or clinical degree are encouraged to apply.
Well rounded person with multi-disciplinary skills and ability to learn new skills quickly.
Highly organized
Success in roles requiring execution of multiple tasks while responding to multiple priorities.
Proven ability to work with efficiency, flexibility, good humor.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array of people -- internal and external - from diverse backgrounds.

This organization is hiring 50 committed adults to launch the first full-time professional tutoring program in the Merrimack Valley. This elite corps will be selected from the top 10% of applicants and will play a significant role in the district's turnaround  strategy for all the 9th and 10th graders in two underperforming high schools in this area.

Each Fellow will work with six pairs of students every school day and will work with the same 12 students all year long. In doing so, tutors will drive student achievement through individualized instruction and build personal and meaningful relationships.

Program Coordinator

Position Summary:
The JF&CS Creative Living Supports (CLS) program helps people with disabilities live independently in the community by creating individualized program based on an individual's specific needs.

The CLS support staff works with an individual with developmental, vision, hearing and physical disabilities. The client loves to be a part of his community/family, has a wonderful relationship with all staff members, has a very sweet disposition, and has no aggressive behaviors. The staff assists the individual to safely access his community, participate in recreational activities and to participate in activities of daily living at home. This is a full time position, eligible for benefits.

Essential Job Functions:
• Respectfully assist with activities of daily living including but not limited to: eating, grooming, dressing, showering, toileting, night preparation, and safety.
• Assist individual in attending social and recreational activities in the community. This includes transporting individual in personal vehicle.
• Assist individual in maintaining a clean residence.
• Participate in staff meeting once every other week.
• Remain on duty until relieved by another staff person, per program policy.
• Write and record daily service delivery logs, and incident reports (when necessary)
• Pass medication to individual, according to training guidelines and policies.
• Communicate effectively with program staff, individual's family and individuals associated with consumer services, in a collaborative team effort.
• Although no prior experience is necessary specifically in tactile and adapted sign language, the CLS Program Coordinator will participate in trainings and then implement the use of tactile and adapted sign language to communicate with the individual. Be open to all staff training to increase skills in this area. With staff team members, be consistently using and increasing the use/words/signs of tactile and adapted sign language to regularly communicate with the individual and to help him grow his vocabulary and independent communication skills.

Physical demands
• May include lifting and supporting up to 50 lbs
• May be required to bend, stoop, and kneel

Computer skills:
• Knowledge and utilization of ETO on a regular/daily basis.


Educational/Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor degree in related field preferred and experience working with individuals with disabilities, or High School Diploma or Equivalency with 2 or more years working with people with disabilities, preferably in a residential setting.
• Ability to pass CPR and Basic First Aid within the first 6 months of employment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Schedule would be Monday-Friday
