As a Senior Network Engineer you will be
responsible for the architecture, implementation, and operations of the
production data centers network infrastructures including routers, switches,
firewalls, load balancers, and VPN services. The successful candidate for this
position will be an energetic and highly motivated individual with insightful
problem solving and customer service skills.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Architect, implement, and maintain a highly available network infrastructure to support application DR and HA initiatives across multiple data centers
- Configuration, installation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of network and storage environments
- Manage network infrastructure design and provide purchasing recommendations
- Proactively identify and remediate potential or active network inefficiencies or vulnerabilities
- Establish/recommend policies on service usage relating to the network
- Participate in 24×7 on call rotation
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 8+ years hands-on experience as a Network Engineer / Administrator
- Previous experience in high availability 24/7 service oriented environment
- Experience with routing technologies BGP, OSPF, VRRP, and VPN’s
- Familiarity with network monitoring applications, such as OpenNMS and Nagios
- Must be proficient with Cisco Catalyst and router IOS, Cisco ASA Firewalls, and F5 load balancing devices
- Proficiency with network traffic analysis tools such as Pilot, Wireshark, tshark, and tcpdump
- Implement, maintain, and respond to alerts associated with intrusion detection system
- Experience with network trunk, stack, and aggregation strategies
- Network infrastructure design and implementation at all levels (routers, load balancers, firewalls, switching from layer 2 up to layer 7)
- Experience with Linux server specific network tuning a plus
- Scripting skill are a plus
