General Counsel
The General Counsel is the Agency's chief legal officer, providing advice to its nine-member Board and executive team on a wide range of statutory, regulatory and policy issues impacting the Agency's mission and business, including the issuance of bonds, the financing of real estate transactions, and corporate governance. The General Counsel manages in-house attorneys as well as the work of outside counsel.
Candidates must possess excellent academic credentials; be admitted to practice in Massachusetts; and have at least 8 to 10 years of experience including staff supervision. Candidates must possess subject matter expertise in at least one of the following areas: real estate development; bond financing/tax credits; or affordable multifamily housing lending. Litigation or litigation management and prior experience with federal or state government are desirable. The candidate is expected to assume a leadership position within the Agency and with the affordable housing bar of the Commonwealth.
