The Senior Packaging Process Engineer will be responsible for the implementation of MEMS chip packaging designs, process, and fixtures into the pilot production line for ongoing development and pre-production runs, intended to demonstrate target performance, reliability, and yield and cost targets prior to the transition of fuel cell chip designs to high volume manufacturing. Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Implement new packaging designs, assembly methods, processes and fixtures into the pilot production line working in close collaboration with development and operations staff.
Establish, coordinate, and maintain pilot line build predictability and repeatability from a technical perspective. Maintain and adjust pilot line process controls and recommend design improvements based on statistical monitoring.
Document process procedures, implement change management, and conduct training and certification of operators and technicians.
Coordinate regular equipment maintenance and calibration.
Qualifications Requirements:
BS in Engineering, Materials Science, or Applied Physics.
A minimum of 8 years of experience, including at least 5 years in product engineering or process manufacturing of semiconductor, microelectronics, or consumer electronic components for high reliability systems in one or more of the following areas:
o MEMS packaging
o Microfluidic packaging
o Vacuum packaging
o Wafer stacking
o High temperature processing
Component packaging process experience with micro-mechanical-electrical, MEMs, photonic, and other packaging products.
Skilled with assembly and inspection under a microscope; Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment.
Experience in establishing and supporting production systems and documenting processes.
Experience improving processes, yield, metrology, and equipment performance based on Pareto and test results.
Expertise in GD&T and assembly tolerance analysis.
DFM, DFT, and DFR (Design for Manufacturing, Test, and Reliability) knowledge desirable.
Extremely PC literate including the MS product suite, database queries and tools, and ERP systems.
