Job Details:
Under the direction of Supervisor, the Central Processing Technician
performs general central supply functions including, sterilization of
instruments, assembling a variety of instrument/diagnostic trays, wraps,
label sets, and sterilizes instruments using steam or ethylene oxide
sterilizers. Prepares E.R., Special Procedures Units, and Ambulatory
Care instrument kits in timely fashion. Inspect and segregate
instruments in need of repair or replacement. Stores and re-stocks
cleaned equipment such as isolation carts, hypothermia machines, heating
pumps, compression devices, and IV Pumps. Is required to rotate through
Decontamination Room and receive soiled instruments/equipment. Assists
with general overall cleaning of department to keep Central Processing
neat and clean at all times.
