Director of Internal Audit
Merrimack College, a four year private Catholic institution located in North Andover, Mass.,
is seeking a Director of Internal Audit to join its senior professional staff. Reporting to the
President and the Audit Committee of the Board of Trustees, this new position will be responsible
for establishing the internal audit function at the College.
This is a roll up your sleeves, hands-on role where responsibilities will include the development
of an annual risk based audit plan; conduct of organizational audits of the College; assessments of
internal controls, compliance with laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices; existence of
and adherence to established policies and procedures; and effectiveness of business practices.
To be considered for this position you must be either a CPA, CIA or CISA with at least five
years of progressive experience in an audit or internal audit role. Exposure to Non Profit\ Higher
Education is preferred. Requirements include effective interpersonal skills necessary to work
with persons from various levels in the College and from varied backgrounds; strong moral and
ethical foundation to disclose potentially illegal, criminal and unethical business practices or data.
