Job Description:

Provide primary support for the identification, analysis and acquisition of companies and assets in support of Mercury’s strategic growth plan. The primary focus will be on developing and maintaining a pipeline of M&A opportunities emphasizing targets whose capabilities, financial performance, programs and platforms provide a close fit with the company’s strategic business and technology roadmaps. Play a key role, conducting relevant industry research and assessing potential acquisition targets, reviewing and analyzing business plans and financial statements, developing financial models, formulating recommendations related to potential acquisition targets, preparing related presentation materials, and administering transactional due diligence efforts.
Responsibilities: Support all stages of the acquisition process, including: identification, origination, valuation, due diligence, and investment recommendations; assist with/support transaction execution including the preparation of transaction documents. • Perform general industry research and assist with identification of potential acquisition opportunities in targeted areas • Analyze and develop recommendations for the acquisition and/or divesture of businesses and assets by Mercury, its subsidiaries and affiliates • Develop acquisition valuation models and business cases, and related presentation materials • Work with Mercury’s senior management in connection with the definition and prioritization of acquisition activities • Provide project support and execution for the evaluation of potential targets, assisting with formulating views on strategic fit, financial performance, potential positive and negative synergies, and overall attractiveness of transaction candidates across all relevant functions, incorporating use of external advisors and in-house specialists • Support formulation of indicative bids, oversee due diligence, obtain internal approvals, provide support for negotiation and finalization of transaction terms and definitive agreements, and assist with post-merger integration as needed • Assist with corporate finance activities as needed in connection with all of the foregoing
Qualifications: • Must be a US Citizen. Strong financial and business analysis skills related to the M&A process, including familiarity with business valuation methodologies, capital markets, corporate finance, and transaction financing and structures • Strong understanding of financial accounting, planning and analysis • Excellent team player, experienced in leading multidisciplinary diligence efforts • Experienced and skilled in interactions with potential corporate partners and key internal constituencies • Excellent verbal and written language skills • Strong presentation skills • Unquestioned ethics and credibility • Bachelors Degree from an accredited university; MBA/advanced degree a plus • Must have at least 3-8 years of full-time work experience, including at least 1-3 in a relevant industry setting plus direct experience in Investment Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Development or Corporate Finance. • Significant, demonstrable experience in business and financial analytics supporting identification, analysis and closing of strategic transactions.
