Job Summary:

Design, develop, document and maintain reports/dashboards in 'business intelligence reporting applications' with high quality and within project schedule, while meeting and/or exceeding requirements.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

·          

    • Analyze requirements for new reports/dashboards and enhancements in 'business intelligence reporting applications'.
    • Prototype, design, develo! p, integrate, debug, deliver and maintain high quality reports/dashboards that fulfill requirements, by utilizing best practices for user experience.
    • Develop SQL queries for fetching large data-sets from DataMart, DataWareHouse, or multiple data-sources on different RDBMSs, address data quality issues, and ensure accuracy/consistency of reports.
    • Document designs, changes and/or new features of 'reporting applications' in a consistent, concise manner
    • Test code and provide input to QA team to help them in thorough testing. Resolve issues uncovered in various phases of testing.
    • Analyze performance bottlenecks and optimize performance.
    • Provide input to documentation team to help them in writing complete! and accurate documentation.
    • Provide assistance to other developers on design/development issues. Share knowledge with others.
    • Provide timely and accurate estimates of assigned tasks
    • Research new technologies and emerging trends in 'reporting tools'! and inform management with their benefits/downfalls. Function as subject matter expert on 'reporting'.

Education and/or Experience:

·          

    • BS in Computer Science or related field
    • At least 5 years of most recent experience in developing high-performance, web-based 'business intelligence' reporting applications involving:
      • BI Tools such as Crystal Reports, Reporting Services, LogiXML, Business Objects etc.
      • Databases: RDBMSs (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL), data modeling, relational database design, ANSI SQL queries (for simple/tabular reports, complex/graphical reports, historical reports, predictive reports etc.). Knowledge of OLAP databases will be beneficial.
      • Web Technologies: including HTML, JavaScript frameworks (e.g. jQuery/YUI), XML, CSS, Java, JSP, and Servlets.
      • Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, and (optionally) Solaris
      • Best practices in software engineering, system integration, and development of high performance applications
      • Knowledge/experience of integration with 'security technologies' and 'Java-based backend application' will be an added advantage.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Significant and proven creative problem solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team (co-located or dispersed.). Experience in Agile-Scrum methodology will be beneficial.
    • High degree ! of motivation, technical competence, and ability to learn new software applications quickly.
    • 'Can-do' attitude to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines with minimal supervision
