Primary Purpose | Functions as a technical specialist or supervisory role. Independently develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems. May supervise engineering staff on projects of medium to high complexity, or serve as a technical specialist providing knowledge and expertise. |
Principal Duties and Responsibilities | Develop, plan, coordinate and manage all aspects of renewable energy projects. The job will include exposure to multidisciplinary renewable energy portfolios including biomass, wind, geothermal, solar, hydro, and ocean energy technologies. Must have the ability to see projects from concept through completion. The position will involve leading a wide variety of diverse assignments including: resource assessment, due diligence, siting, feasibility studies, new technology evaluation, project proposal evaluation, market assessments, strategic planning, policy evaluation, conceptual design, design review, and economic analysis. The position will entail interaction with clients including: utilities, energy project developers, financial institutions, energy end-users, investors, government agencies, and other organizations. Essential responsibilities will include: lead and contribute to authorship of reports, studies, and proposals. Develop technical and economic analyses of projects and technologies using models built in Microsoft Excel. Coordinate work with others in multi-disciplinary teams. Identify and understand client issues, and work collaboratively to develop and communicate creative solutions. Assess regulatory, technical, and market issues to evaluate competitive dynamics of various resource options. A significant aspect of the job will be to assist with development of an enhanced renewable energy business line in the Northeastern United States. May also be required to supervise and mentor additional renewable energy staff members. |
Minimum Qualifications | Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 11 years related work experience |
Preferred Job Qualifications | Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly through formal reports, presentations, memoranda and email. Must be able to function equally well in collaborative, multi-discipline teams, and self-directed independent assignments. Must be self-motivated, with an ability to balance multiple projects while working under tight deadlines. Must have experience with multiple renewable energy technologies. Must be able to mentor other professionals in renewable energy projects. |
