Senior Software Engineer

Primary Purpose :
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and development of software for new products as well as enhancements to existing products at ZOLL. Capable of independently defining software requirements, producing a high level and detailed design from those requirements, and implementing and testing the associated software. May be assigned the position of Software Task Leader and is therefore capable of coordinating the activities of a small group of software engineers to meet project milestones under the direction of the Project Manager and Department Manager. May supervise the activities of 1-5 software engineers. Interfaces directly and frequently with other members of the Research and Development team. Requires supervision occasionally.

Competencies :
To qualify for this position the candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a technical equivalent in addition to:
 

  • 5-10 years experience in software design related field
  • Must have experience in all phases of the software development process
  • Experience in programming in a variety of high-order and assembly languages on various computers and/or microprocessors

POSITION OVERVIEW: 

The Senior Internal Auditor is responsible for performing internal audit projects as part of the annual internal audit plan, including developing risk-based audit programs, performing audit procedures, and drafting internal audit reports.  This position also performs follow up procedures with management to assess the status of outstanding internal audit issues, and supporting audit management with periodic reporting to the Audit Committee, completion of the annual risk assessment, development of the annual internal audit plan, and championing internal control and corporate governance concepts throughout the business.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Assist in developing, scheduling, and executing audit projects, which include financial, operational, and compliance reviews as well as ad hoc special projects.

·        Provide guidance and support to functional business areas in the development, refinement, and documentation of internal controls and business process improvements.

·        Identify, develop, and document audit issues and recommendations using independent judgment concerning areas being reviewed.

·        Communicates the results of audits via written reports and oral presentations to all levels of management. 

·        Coordinate with the company’s external auditors to ensure financial and business process controls are adequate. 

·        Be a role model for the company's values and demonstrate the highest ethical standards.

·        Educate Welch’s colleagues on the importance of effective internal controls.

·        This position involves travel to domestic and international locations.  Total travel is expected to be less than 25% annually.

 JOB REQUIREMENTS:

·        A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance. 

·        Minimum of five years related, applicable experience with knowledge of accounting, finance, and internal controls.  Public accounting experience preferred. 

·        CPA or CIA designation desirable.

·        Experience in manufacturing desired.  Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma a plus.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint especially)

·        Oracle/OBIEE experience preferred

·        Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present to peers and all levels of management.

·        Proven ability to work across functional business areas and the leadership skills needed to sell ideas and obtain management buy-in for constructive change.

·        Strong problem solving and analytical skills with prior experience working effectively in a demanding, fast changing environment.

·        Proactive and able to work independently
