Position Responsibilities - Summary
My client is a looking for a Senior Developer to be part of a diverse team on one of the most successful e-commerce sites in the world. This outstanding individual will work with both the business and technical teams to innovate and deliver new features and enhancements for my client's e-commerce site. They are looking for a dynamic individual who combines superb technical, analytical and communication capabilities with an ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Primary Responsibilities:
• Act as an application lead for firm's e-commerce portfolio
• Act as a technical lead for significant e-commerce projects, working with the business partners to identify solutions, contributing to overall design, proof of concept development, technical strategy, coordinating with external teams and vendors, and mentoring junior developers.
• Design and develop new functionality for the e-commerce website that is reliable, maintainable, and scalable
• Actively participate in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle including define, design, development, test, deployment, and support and maintenance of the e-commerce web site
• Create technical specification documents for new functionality and ensure that new solutions integrate seamlessly with existing technologies
Required Skills and Competencies:
Must Haves:
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• 4-5 years of work experience in a fast-paced development environment with experience in consumer facing web products
• Experience in Java / JEE based web development
• Experience in a major RDBMS (DB2 preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent analytical abilities and a strong intellectual curiosity
• Customer service oriented
Preferred:
• Previous experience in consulting
• IBM WebSphere Commerce experience
• Experience with Agile SDLC, Scrum in particular
• SOA experience
• RIA (jQuery, HTML5, javascript)
