Required Skills and Competencies:
Client is looking for “intelligent” individuals that can think/learn on
their own and that loves to build applications. These are individuals that
have built consumer facing website and/or web portal plug-ins. They have
strong grasp of business logic and turning it into application that makes
sense for users to use. They are not looking for backend programmers (DBA,
Security, Performance optimization, etc…). The individual can be junior, mid
or senior but the focus of what they like to do is the most important. If
they want to be a lead developer for applications (i.e. they want to own the
creation of a product, that’d be a perfect fit).
If you’re good, we know that you can program in any language. However, we
require hands on coding experience with the following technologies:
Must Haves:
· Perl & PHP using OOP
· Experience with XML, CSS and JQuery
· MySQL - ability to design database schemas and master all the core
SQL statements
· Full grasps of web services technologies and techniques such as
REST/SOAP API and development paradigms
· Experience developing web applications that have 10,000+ users
(we're dealing with millions...)
Nice to Haves:
· Computer Science Degree
· Previous experience using PHP frameworks, Phython, Web 2.0, AJAX
(LAMP Environment)
· Previous start up experience
· Wants to take on big technical challenges (We serve over a billion
requests every month)
· Loves to build websites for fun – May have participated in
programming competitions
