My client, a public company approaching $200M+ in revenue with a strong cash
position, is the leading provider of computing systems and software for
data-intensive applications that include embedded computing systems and
software that combine image, signal, and sensor processing with information
management for data-intensive applications. They architect comprehensive,
purpose-built solutions that capture, process, and present data for defense
electronics, homeland security, and other computationally challenging
commercial markets.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a pre-sales hardware system engineer within the Product
Management organization focused equally on design wins and defining next
generation products.

Position Responsibilities:

· Lead the customer requirements gathering process to define next generation
Embedded HW products.
· Work with Architects, HW, SW and Systems Engineers in a team environment
to define next generation products.
· Create Product Requirements Definition (PRD) documents to drive next
generation product details, including phasing.
· Support key customer pre-sales efforts including white-board session and
mapping their application to the firm’s products.
· Evangelize product’s unique value propositions leading to design wins.
· Develop competitive information (technical) and publish internally.
· Work with customers to understand and translate hardware requirements
· Familiarity with processors and FPGA’s required

Required Skills and Competencies:

· BSEE/BSCS/BSCE
· 10+ yrs of senior level hardware positions (HW Manager; Sr Architect or Sr
Level Technical Pre-sales support)
· 5 + years defining products.
· 5+ years experience in engineering design/analysis of hardware systems
· Experience in real-time embedded processing
· Familiarity with processors and FPGA’s required
· Requires strong technical and business acumen - Entrepreneurial spirit and
acts with a sense of urgency.
· Strong technical skills with an ability to quickly assimilate new ideas
and concepts
· Ability to quickly build strong partnering relationships with customers
· Strong customer facing skills – proven ability to straddle technical
content and business value in formal and informal discussions with the firm’
s customers - strong communications and the ability to present to all levels
· Previous Presales experience
· Demonstrated ability to foster cross-functional teamwork among Sales,
Engineering, Operations and Marketing
· Solid understanding of target marketplace – Defense
· Experience working for or with Defense Prime contractors
· Willing to travel up to 20%
· Must be a US Citizen – Ability to secure secret level security clearance.
