Position: Mechanic Technician I Location: Portsmouth, NH
Department: Maintenance Shift: 2nd shift
Position Summary: | |
Performs maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, electrical, or vehicle servicing. Is knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in area(s) of specialty. Installs and maintains machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools

Works under general supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Environment: | |
Works throughout the facility
· Lifts and carries up to 75 lbs frequently
· Pushes and pulls up to 65 lbs frequently
Specific Accountabilities: | |
1. Performs maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, electrical, or vehicle servicing
2. Is knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in area(s) of specialty
3. Performs a variety of mechanical tasks
4. Simple fabrication, welding, hydraulics and pneumatic basics
5. Installs and maintains machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools
6. Assist with line set-ups/change overs
7. Performs basic equipment trouble shooting/rebuilds
Job Specifications: | |
· High school diploma (or equivalent) and up to five years experience or trade school
· Applies knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures
· Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
