Description:

Duties include: Installation and maintenance of laptop software and hardware, including classroom applications. On-site troubleshooting and support of student laptops and peripheral equipment. Assist Academic Technology Systems Manager with support of computer labs and classrooms (PC and Mac), and other duties as assigned. Works with members of the Academic Schools (academic), Academic Technology (academic) and the Department of Information Technology (administrative) as necessary to ensure fulfillment of the college’s mission and goals. Responsibilities: 1. Installation of software and creation and updating of master computer images. 2. Provides first level software support and second level hardware support 3. Work with outside vendors for support services. 4. Coordination of onsite troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of student laptops and peripheral equipment. 5. Works with AT Systems Manager on computer labs (PC and Mac) , printing and other issues 6. Manages and trains student workers 7. Low-end systems administrator 8. Works with members of the Academic Schools (academic), Academic Technology (academic), and Department of Information Technology (administrative) as necessary to ensure fulfillment of the college’s mission and goals. 9. Other duties, as necessary, related to campus technology support, including use of CARS administrative computing system to flag students for correct laptop billing fees.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree required. Degree, relevant Windows and Mac certifications and/or experience in technology related field preferred. 2. Must be familiar with and have technical ability with laptop computers, including troubleshooting skills, software installations, hard drive image building, data recovery, and TCP/IP. 3. Superior knowledge of operating systems, especially Microsoft’s Windows XP, Windows 7 and applications such as Microsoft Office suite as well as virus and spyware protection. Familiarity with image-based cloning and deployment a must. 4. Ability to work with and connect computers to the campus data network with wired and wireless technology. 5. Ability to relate to and work with students and faculty. 6. Excellent customer relation and communication skills - both written and oral. 7. Ability to learn new software packages and train others as required.
