| Job Description / Statement of Duties: | SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Director of Human Resources SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervises student employees and temporary workers. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible for performing a variety of administrative and human resources functions including but not limited to coordinating and managing the hiring process for all benefited positions at the College, preparing appointment letters and hiring documents, assisting with the maintenance of employee files, attendance records, coordinating insurance and employee benefit plans, and providing general front office support and customer service ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 1. Provides front line customer service for the Human Resources Office, answers telephones, distributes mail, schedules meetings, maintains filing system, orders supplies, prepares memorandum, and provides additional administrative and/or project specific support to the Director of Human Resources and the Human Resources Office. 2. Manages the hiring process at the College. Trains employees on hiring policies and procedures, tracks applicants, advertises positions, updates websites, sets up interviews, reviews interview questions, and acknowledges applicants. Responsible for entering and maintaining the accuracy of all open and closed positions in the College's web-based applicant tracking system. May serve as the HR liaison to searches. 3. He/She is responsible for providing superior customer service and recruitment support including assisting staff, managers and outside customers who call and/or visit the Human Resources office 4. Manages processing for new hires and terminated employees to include processing personnel requisitions, job postings, completion of new hire/termination paperwork and payroll related paperwork. 5. Manages and maintains employee files both manual and automated according to instructions outlined by the Director and/or applicable federal and state laws. 6. Assists management by handling confidential information as it relates to matters of collective bargaining, employee discipline, and benefits and leave administration. 7. Responsible for the distribution and tracking of probationary and annual employee evaluations. 8. Responsible for producing human resources/payroll related reports to include applicant tracking, performance evaluation tracking, and completion of surveys. 9. Assists with benefit and leave administration and benefit open enrollment activities. 10. Assists with administering the new hire orientation program and any other training activities of the department. 11. Assists in the maintenance of an HRIS system (occasionally assists with the payroll as requested by the Director of Human Resources). 12. Hires, trains, and supervises student employees and temporary employees. 13. Works in a collegial and collaborative manner with co-workers. 14. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources. |
| Required Minimum Qualifications: | Bachelor's degree or appropriate combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks in a highly interactive environment. Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational, and problem solving skills are also required. Must possess proficient knowledge of word processing programs, database management, and spreadsheet software. |
