Summary: Under general direction of the Associate Dean, the Executive Assistant will draft routine correspondence on behalf of the Dean as well as perform various clerical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the Dean's Office.

 

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations include the following:

-Draft routine correspondence on behalf of the Dean.

-Conduct research.

-Organize and maintain file system, file correspondence and other records; use discretion dealing with a variety of sensitive and privileged matters.

-Provide back-up to other administrators in the office.

-Greet visitors.

-Perform miscellaneous clerical duties such as, but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing and answering the phones.

-Assist with special events.

-Manage special projects as needed.

-Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of executive level experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to compose correspondence for the dean using correct spelling, grammar, punctuations, composition, text editing, and proofreading skills. Must be enthusiastic team player but also have the ability to work independently. Strong multi-tasking skills. Skilled in verbally communicating with the general public as well as the law school community, including trustees, faculty and students.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge and practical application of Microsoft Office software in a Windows environment, database and website software.
