{Career Place} Console Operator at the main hospital in Burlington

The hours are :

 

Fridays:            3pm – 9pm

Saturdays:       2:00pm – 9:30pm

Sundays:          2:00pm – 9:30pm

Be a part of a 317-bed, Level11 Trauma Center serving more than 3,000 patients each day in Burlington, Massachusetts.

 

Provide service operating a switchboard, paging console and providing patient information. Monitor and respond to all codes, trauma and hospital wide alarm activity. Receive and direct calls coming through the main hospital to departments, employees and patients. In addition, support internal calls from hospital staff for paging and directory assistance.  Operate AMCOM paging software system.  Retrieve messages, handle overhead paging. Support medical and administrative staff with paging services and medical alerts. Oversee after hours on call schedule for various locations for patient and staff calls.  Monitor and respond  to codes and alarms including:  Trauma, Code 99, Code Green, Code Red, Code Pink, Code Zebra, Emergency Exit Doors, Medial Gas, Radiation, Blood Bank, Hylon and Burglar and Hold-Up.  Notify essential personnel, security and 911 Emergency services. Handle In-Patient information calls.  Control patient room’s telephone on/off activity.  Responsible for distribution of new/spare/long range pagers, patient room telephones, TTY (Hearing Impaired) equipment, batteries, hospital directories and conference room speakerphones.

Must be extremely dependable as this position is considered “essential” and you are required to work during inclement weather conditions.


Previous telephone/switchboard or ACD experience required. 
Medical terminology . Strong customer service skills and excellent communication skills.
