 Learn what procrastination is and what it isn’t. During this workshop we will explore where, when and why so many of us continue to do this. How to manage it more effectively. What are some of the more novel approaches to overcoming it.

 Presenter Doug Horbel has provided outplacement, career management and life coaching support to individuals in a broad spectrum of professions and industries. He has guided clients from diverse backgrounds to take charge of their careers, strategize their direction and produce effective action. Doug holds a BBA from Manhattan College, NY, and is a CTI Certified Professional Coach.

{Career Place} Propmakers Needed . . .



With all the film making activity in Massachusetts, there is an urgent need for propmakers, the core personnel of motion picture set construction.   This is a job for someone who can handle everything from larger construction tasks to the finer  details of carpentry, working with such materials as wood, glass, rubber, plastic, metal, leather and formica.  You must be able to analyze sketches, blueprints and verbal instructions to determine the type of props and other materials needed and equipment required.

You must be able to:

    1.      Use hand tools and woodworking and metalworking machines and equipment

    2.      Measure and mark cutting lines on material, using work aids such as jigs and fixtures, micrometers, calipers and templates

    3.      Fabricate parts using machinery such as drill press, metal and wood lathes, power saws, router and milling machines

    4.      Assemble parts into props, miniatures and sets using hand tools and equipment such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers and welding apparatus

    5.      Rig and control moving or functioning elements of sets that depict action

These would not be regular jobs.  You would be called on an as needed basis.  The pay ranges from $19 - $29/hour

CoWorx Staffing Services is currently seeking an experienced, bilingual (English/Portuguese) Customer Service Representative for our client (a fast growing wholesale distribution company) in Woburn, MA.  This is a temp to perm position, full time 9am-5:30pm or 9:30am-6:00pm Mon-Fri, paying $13.00hour.

Responsibilities include:

    • Dealing directly with customers by phone to process orders and handle customer issues or special requests
    • Ability to multitask and thrive in a very fast paced environment
    • Helping customers with product buying decisions
    • Calling customers directly to promote our products and specials
    • Other projects as needed  
 Requirements:
    • High School diploma or equivalent is required
    • Customer service experience - call center/phone experience preferred
    • Bilingual (English/Portuguese) - strongly preferred
    • Pleasant phone manner, strong communication skills and willingness to be challenged
    • Detail-oriented and customer-focused with the ability to thrive in a team environment, and have a strong desire to learn
    • Computer skills required.  Ability to use a calendar program (e.g. Outlook) a plus
    • Ability to independently follow up with customers about their orders
