Responsibilities:
• Primary responsibility is group sales targeting the meeting and convention market for business travelers.

• To achieve or better budgeted sales targets.

• To identify prospective clients' exact needs, by questioning, observation and the completion of a full sales survey.

• To entertain prospective clients, where possible combining this with visits to existing satisfied customers.

• To liaise closely with operational staff on all details for a prospective new contract and gain their agreement on all details.

• To analyze statistics thereby identifying key sales areas, problems and success rate.

• To research prospective client details, finding out as much as possible about the company to ensure a professional approach.

Requirements:
• 1-3 years of sales experience are required, preferably in hospitality or transportation setting.

• Excellent oral and written skills.

• You are goal oriented, enjoy outside sales, prospecting for business, maintaining existing client base, and have a passion for selling in the transportation industry.

• Superior presentation, negotiation, communicating and influencing skills.

• Professional image and outgoing personality.

• Understand Word, Excel, and PowerPoint computer programs.

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

• Extremely detail oriented with a strong understanding of the importance of follow-through and timely communication.
• Ability to process information and make sound judgments.

Closings due to special events or holidays:

Due to an all staff meeting, The Career Place will close at 12 p.m. on Friday, December 14.
The Career Place will close for the Christmas holiday at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 24, and will reopen Wednesday morning, December 26, at 8:30 a.m.
Our career resource library closes on some occasions to accommodate large groups. Please check our calendar.

In case of inclement weather, please remember to call the center before you venture out. A recorded message will be posted on TCP's main number, 781.932.5500, by 7:30 a.m., if there will be a delayed opening. Also, if an early closing becomes necessary due to inclement weather, a recorded message will be posted on TCP's main number as soon as possible.

Note: If there is a closing or delayed opening due to inclement weather, our policy is to reschedule Career Center Seminars, workshops and appointments for another day, with the exception of WorkSmart.
